Mexico (Yucatan Peninsula)
Having visited the western part of Mexico many times, it was super interesting to explore the Yucatan Peninsula on the eastern part of Mexico. We were able to visit a cenote, which is an underground cavern that the Maya believed was sacred. The cenote had stalactites and we were able to swim around it its refreshing waters, which the Maya swam in to get rejuvenated. After our cavern adventure we were able to go to the most beautiful beach I have ever visited. The sand was bright white and the water was as clear as could be and beautiful shades of turquoise, green, and blue. I could have stayed there forever!
