Welcome to Global Issues! Our world is an amazing place, full of fascinating cultures, which were formed by drama-laden history. The goal of this class is to understand what is going on in our world today by exploring the historical events and developments that created the 21st century world in which we live. We will accomplish this goal by focusing on how technology, medicine, engineering, warfare, human trafficking, natural disasters, child labor, human rights, drug use, reform movements, etc. have shaped our past and are impacting people around the world today. For this class, you will research various topics, present your findings, participate in debates, create projects, learn to evaluate documentaries and movies for accuracy, etc. My hope is to nurture your interest and understanding of both history and current events and how you can be involved in making our world a better place!
