Getty Villa~Roman Architecture & Gardens

I recently spent a day at the Getty Villa in Malibu. This amazing museum is a replica of a Roman villa that was buried when Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD/CE. If you get a chance, go for a visit!

Things to look for:

Amazing mosaic fountain with Greek theater masks
Corinthian pillars
Mercury/Hermes statue with his winged feet
Roman Band-Aids (lamb's ear leaves)
Bronze statues' eyes (it brings a whole new meaning to "don't shoot 'til you see the whites of their eyes")
