Chinese Garden at Huntington Library
The Chinese Garden at Huntington Library in San Marino is a beautiful and peaceful place. The garden's name is Liu Fang Yuan, which means “flowing fragrance.” Throughout the garden you can find plants, trees, and flowers that are native to China like lotus flowers and plum trees. The Chinese have always celebrated nature, silence, and stillness in their poetry and paintings, and this garden is a wonderful example of all three elements.
If you get a chance, stop by and visit the entire estate. They have lots of cool things like illuminated manuscripts from the middle ages, a Japanese tea garden, and many other gardens. You can learn more about the Hutington Library and Gardens at http://www.huntington.org Back to China Websites
