Bahamas

Now, you may be thinking, "Miss Smith, I know my geography and the Bahamas are not in the Caribbean Sea." That is true, they are actually located in the Atlantic Ocean. However, since they were part of our Caribbean cruise I've included them here. 

There are 700 islands and 2000 cays that make up the Bahamas, but only twenty-three or so are inhabited. We visited the city of Nassau, which is where the huge Atlantis resort is located. Atlantis has the largest aquarium in the world!  While in Nassau we visited the famous Straw Market, which is like a bazaar where people sell local crafts, ate some delicious conch (pronounced "konk"), and were able to paddle around in a clear kayak marveling at the brightly colored fish. We even saw a manta ray!

Pirates used to rule the Bahamas so they have created an interesting pirate museum. I even got to meet one! Ok, so he was a guy who worked at the museum who was dressed up like a pirate, but it was still pretty cool.
